Seattle I5 by Telegra

In order to reduce congestion and increase safety on I-5 road in Seattle, Washington Department of Transport has acquired nearly 300 Variable Message Signs from Telegra.
Once activated in summer 2010, the high-tech signs will help improve safety and reduce collisions. I-5 commuters will experience safer and smoother traffic on a roadway that detects changing traffic flows and automatically adapts to traffic congestion by adjusting the speed limit and providing drivers with useful traffic information. The signs will display speed limits from 40 to 60 mph, depending on traffic levels. The result will be fewer traffic collisions and less collision-related congestion, including a 30 percent reduction in collisions and a 22 percent increase in roadway capacity.

This is the first major installation of an ATM System in Washington State, and in the broader picture, North America. Understanding the importance of this project’s historical significance, but more importantly, it’s impact on the people and economy in the Greater Seattle Area, Washington State Department of Transport opted for the best and most reliable supplier on the market.
For over 20 years Telegra has been establishing itself as a leading supplier of advanced traffic management systems for highways and tunnels, initially in its homeland Croatia and lately as a global player, in every corner of the world. Extensive list of satisfied Clients and a fact that we produced, delivered and installed almost 40 systems in over 25 countries put us firmly on pole position to carry out this big and important project.
