Washington State DOT's new Smarter Highways VMS live

In order to reduce congestion and increase safety in Seattle, Washington Department of Transport has acquired nearly 300 Variable Message Signs from Telegra.
In latest stage of the project new smart highway signs were turned on at around 6:30 a.m June 8th on westbound I-90.
Signs are stretched along westbound I-90 between 150th Avenue Southeast in Bellevue and Interstate 5 in Seattle.
Previous project stages included northbound I-5 in Seattle and SR 520 between Seattle and Bellevue. Those two stages were in operation for more than a year resulting in measurable positive effect on congestion reduction.

Upon official completion of the WSDOT ATMS project Telegra and design build team received above average and superior ratings from the Washington State DOT as Traffic signs vendor on Quality of work aspect.
This is the first major installation of an ATM System in Washington State, and in the broader picture, North America. Understanding the importance of this project’s historical significance, but more importantly, its impact on the people and economy in the Greater Seattle Area, Washington State Department of Transport opted for the best and most reliable supplier on the market.
